What Is Urgent Mail Service (UMS)?
UMS is Pakistan Post’s fast domestic mail service. You book it at General Post Offices (GPOs) and other post offices. It can deliver overnight between major cities, and in 48 to 72 hours to other places in Pakistan. Parcels can weigh up to 30 kg.

How to Track Your UMS Parcel, Step by Step
You can track a UMS item on the public Track & Trace website at ep.gov.pk. Follow these steps:
- Find your booking receipt: When you hand in a parcel at a post office, you get a printed receipt with a tracking barcode.
- Find the number: The tracking number is usually printed under the barcode on the receipt.
- Go to the tracking website: Open the website and find the tracking search box.
- Enter the full number: Type the number with no spaces or dashes, then complete any security check.
- Read the updates: Look at the list of scans, from booking, through sorting and transport, to delivery.

How UMS Moves and What to Expect
Knowing how the post works helps you understand the tracking updates:
Booking Time
Items booked earlier in the day usually go out sooner. We could not confirm the exact cut-off times, so ask at your post office.
Travel Between Cities
How long UMS takes depends on distance. It can deliver overnight between major cities, and in 48 to 72 hours to other places. Smaller towns can take longer, because mail passes through more offices on the way.
Delivery
When a UMS item reaches the delivery post office, it is sorted and given to the local postman, who delivers along a set daily round.
When UMS Tracking Stops Updating
If your UMS barcode shows no scans, or seems stuck at one office, there are some normal reasons:
- Delayed records: Some smaller post offices may send their records later in the day, not straight away.
- Mail on the move: While mail bags are on a train or van, there are no scans until the bag is opened at the next office.
- Sundays and holidays: Normal deliveries stop on Sundays and gazetted public holidays.
